Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King was a very determined man who believed that all humans should be treated equally. He was a considerate person considering the fact that he did not want the children to protest in Birmingham,Alabama. I also think he's quite persistent because he went to jail for something willingly that he did not see as wrong. This is just my opinion of Martin Luther King.
This man was famous because of his courage to stand up against the government and the laws that were unequal to many, all African Americans. He is famous for many reasons but I think his "I have a dream" speech is one of the most favorite amongst society. His speech basically states that he wants all humans to be treated equally despite their skin color or race. He did this in the most peaceful way as he could and I don't remember ever being told that he resorted to violence. Because of this he is a very respected person in history.
Dr.King faced many obstacles in his way. Not many white men wanted to give black men power in society so they were hesitant to proceed with his dreams. I think they thought of him as dangerous because so many people were inspired by his speeches and just what he stood for. He was thrown in prison for nothing but standing up for his race in a peaceful protest. He was beaten,no doubt, for the same reasons. Not to mention the fact that he was assassinated. These are just some of the obstacles that stood in his way.
Im not really familiar with hi suggestions for society to make America a more equal place. But I do know that he wanted all the little black boys and little white girls to hold hands and move towards a better future together because nobody can honestly focus on a problem if their to focused on the color of the skins in their own country. I think he believed that there are more important problems that required our attention versus the attention of the color of ones skin.
In conclusion Dr.Martin Luther King just wanted a better community where he can go out and not be discriminated for something that he was merely born with. He wanted a better society and future for him and his children and many generations on. My hope for society is that the citizens of the united states can become more independent and become more involved in the governments actions instead of depending on them for a paycheck and a go to source when things get uncomfertable in their lives.
